Lukoil Racing’s Aleksey Dudukalo finished TCR Russia on a high note as he won the second race of the season’s finale at Fort Grozny, beating the triple champion Dmitry Bragin and securing the second place in the championship.
LADA Sport Rosneft’s Mikhail Grachev completed the race’s podium in third, while in the final sprint for the third position in the standings Grachev’s teammate and the winner of yesterday’s Race 1 Kirill Ladygin beat Lukoil Racing’s Ivan Lukashevich on the finishing line (they were forth and fifth) and by one point in the final classification.
Dudukalo sprinted from pole position to take the lead at the start, while Bragin was able to keep Lukashevich and Vladimir Sheshenin at bay to retain the second place. On lap 3, Lukashevich and Sheshenin made contact and spun; the former rejoined in seventh position while the LADA driver had to pit for repairs. This promoted Grachev to third and Roman Golikov to fourth; however Golikov had to serve a drive-through for jump-start and dropped at the back of the field.
With Dudukalo in a comfortable lead, Bragin rejected Grachev’s assaults; the latter was joined by Anton Badoev, Ladygin and Lukashevich in a four-way fight for the third position. Two laps from the end Ladygin overtook Badoev for fourth and then the latter lost also fifth to Lukashevich during the final lap.
