Norbert Michelisz (first): “It was a good session, we used it to make a qualifying simulation, putting new tires at some point, and given the result, it seems it worked. But we still struggle with understeer, it’s the same situation as yesterday. We need to work to improve that, especially in slower corners.”
Jean-Karl Vernay (second): “It’s an unbelievable result, given the week we had to endure. The guys have worked day and night the entire week to get the two cars ready, they really did a fantastic job. I am almost sure that if it wasn’t for this team, we couldn’t be racing this weekend. I am really grateful to all of them. This is a circuit I like, that requires very smooth driving. Yesterday, we only did a shake down to check that everything was ok, so to be that competitive today is great. We still have to improve a number of things in the set-up, but we are starting from a good base.”
James Nash (fourth): “We’ll have to wait for Q1 to see where everybody really stands. We were on qualifying configuration, and we are reasonably happy with the outcome. Still, this is a track where to be upfront, you have to make the least possible mistakes. This will be the crucial factor, both in qualifying and races.”
