Norbert Michelisz (first): “It was actually a very emotional moment for me to take the track, here at home, with a car of my own team… I felt butterflies in my stomach… For the rest, the lap time was very good, but the car was very difficult to drive, there was massive understeer and not much grip. We have some work to do.”
Pepe Oriola (second): “The new surface has changed a lot of things, the track is very slick and that’s quite nice, all the little bumps are gone, but it’s a little bit tricky, because in some places, all of the sudden, you lose grip. Still, I am very happy with the way the car performed today, very nice balance. In the middle of the session, we changed something in the set-up, just to try. I thought it would not work, but on the contrary, it worked perfectly and we gained some tenths, so I am really happy.”
Fred Vervisch (third): “I can’t believe I was third-fastest because the feeling today was really not good. A lot of understeer, driving was like a ballet exercise today… I know is partly due to the track conditions, I hope they will improve and that we can also improve the car, because otherwise it will be very difficult to be competitive.”
Attila Tassi (fourth): “A lot of understeer, like everybody else, but it really felt strange today. Hope things will improve. Otherwise, I’m doing well, still have a bandaging on my shoulder from the Salzburgring’s accident, but I feel ok.”
