Jakraphan Davee won TCR Thailand ‘s penultimate race at Buriram’s Chang International Circuit and jumped on top of the standings, demoting Pattarapol Vongprai to second.
Davee started from pole position in the Cupra entered by the Alphafactory Racing Team by Pulzar and led for the whole 15 laps. Vongprai tried to chase him and was able to reduce the gap midway through the race, but then lost contact and eventually retired when his Vattana Motorsport Honda Civic suffered from a broken clutch.
Morin Racing Team’s Nattanid Lewattanavaragul completed a Cupra 1-2 finish as she was able to recover from fifth on the grid to second, overtaking the Honda Civic cars of Nattachak Hanjitkasem on lap 1 and Chariya Nuya on lap 6.
With a leading margin of 12 points in the standings, Davee has staked a serious claim on the title, as only 25 points are still on offer in the final race that will take place tomorrow at 14:30 local time (9:30 CET); live streaming at www.tcr-series.tv.
