The inaugural Bathurst International will be held on November 13/15. The brand-new event will allow drivers and teams from all around the world the chance to compete at one of the most revered racetracks on the planet.
At Mount Panorama, the TCR cars will compete in a stand-alone 500km race, set to become a jewel in the crown of all international TCR events.
The Bathurst TCR 500 will see each car entered with two drivers, bringing market relevant endurance Touring Car racing back to the famous mountain circuit.
Confirmation of the date comes on the back of the news that the Seven Network will bring motorsport back to its screens in 2020, televising the Shannons Championships as well as the Bathurst International event that is a joint venture between the Australian Racing Group and the Bathurst Regional Council.
Matt Braid, Director Australian Racing Group, commented: “It is exciting to confirm the date for the inaugural Bathurst International, and we are very pleased with the final outcome. This date represents the best chance for drivers and teams from around the world to race at the iconic Mount Panorama. The mid-November date gives everyone a long time to arrange their calendars and logistics. We know that all the local competitors in TCR, Touring Car Masters and Trans Am are looking forward to it, and that international guests will do whatever they can to try and knock them off in their own backyard.”
