When TCR Scandinavia visits the Danish circuit of Jyllandsringen in the upcoming weekend, three new drivers will join the field: Casper Elgaard, Martin Jensen and Kristian Sætheren.
Elgaard, a four-time Danish Touring Car champion will be at the wheel of a Honda Civic Type R FK7 run by Massive Motorsport in cooperation with JAS Motorsport.
“I have always wanted to try TCR; it’s a cool class that I have followed the last couple of years. To fight against the Swedish drivers is an extra challenge that I am keen to take on. JAS will bring the car and some staff, the rest will be my crew from Massive,” said Elgaard.
Insight Racing will field two Alfa Romeo Giulietta cars for team owner Martin Jensen and the young Norwegian driver Kristian Sætheren.
“We will get assistance from Italy as Romeo Ferraris will bring their engineers and I am very much looking forward to show our internationally based team to them,” said Jensen who finished third in the 2004 Danish Touring Car Championship. Last year he drove the Giulietta TCR in the first two events of the Pirelli World Challenge.
The 21-year-old Sætheren is a regular competitor in the DS3 Cup Denmark for Insight Racing. “I am looking forward to the races, but I haven’t got crazy expectations. I am well aware the competition is going to be really tough. It will be really exciting,” he said.
