After both races of the SCCC opening event at Bowmanville were cancelled for prohibitive weather conditions, the series went underway at Calabogie where the Audi drivers took the lion’s share in the TCR class.
At the wheel of their second-generation Audi RS 3 LMS cars, TCR Motorsport teammates Jérimy Daniel and Jean-François Hevey equally shared race victories and second places, which means that they are co-leading the standings on 75 points.
After setting the fastest lap in Qualifying, Daniel claimed a comfortable win in the first race, leaving Hevey 24 seconds behind, while Ron Tomlinson with a previous model Audi run by his own team completed the podium close behind Hevey.
In the second race, Hevey took his revenge, beating Daniel on the line by eight tenths of a second. Third place went to another second-generation Audi, the Blanchet Motorsports car driven by Richard Boake.
The next event will be on July 16/17 within the frame of the Indy Toronto Grand Prix.
