2021 TCR Scandinavia champion elect Robert Dahlgren has taken another two pole positions at Ring Knutstorp for the final round of the season, bringing his total up to 11 from 12 rounds in his PWR Racing CUPRA Leon Competición.
Dahlgren will start the first race ahead of his teammate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, who is chasing a career-best second place in the drivers’ championship, while he’ll start Race 2 on pole ahead of Tobias Brink’s Audi RS 3 LMS.
In the first qualifying session, Dahlgren put two stable first runs in early on to comfortably secure his tenth pole position of the season ahead of teammate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky by three-tenths of a second, with Tobias Brink third fastest, just two-thousandths of a second behind Åhlin-Kottulinsky.
Oliver Söderström just missed the top three in his Lestrup Racing Team Volkswagen, a further 39-thousandths adrift, while Mattias Andersson’s MA:GP Lynk & Co 03 completed the top five, with the top five drivers of the standings all qualifying in championship order.
In Q2, Dahlgren went out and was immediately faster than his Q1 time, setting a time of 59.467, with Brink four-tenths of a second off the pace. Just at the end of the session, Åhlin-Kottulinsky was able to improve to third, but was just two-hundredths of a second behind her chief rival for third in the standings.
The first race is scheduled to take place at 10:35 CEST on Saturday morning.
