“A good end to a tough day. We had a technical problem that nailed us in the pits for much of the time, so it was nice that we got it done in the end, and still I could have been faster. It was very even today and it will be interesting to see how the season develops,” said the 2017 champion.
Andersson commented: “It feels good. We have been sparing with new tyres but still pretty quick, so I'm optimistic. At the same time, you never know what the others are doing, but we drive with what we think is the right set-up for the premiere and feel satisfied so far.”
Surprisingly, third fastest in the day was Brink Motorsport’s young rookie Hannes Morin in his Audi RS 3 LMS; the 16-year-old’s best effort was 1:00.167 a bit faster than his teammate and principal Tobias Brink’s 1:00.244.
The top ten were rounded off by Jocke Mangs (Brovallen Motorsport Audi – 1:00.287), Andreas Ahlberg (Kågered Racing VW Golf – 1:00.352), Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinski (PWR Racing CUPRA – 1:00.418), Tomas Engström (Kågered Racing VW Golf – 1:00.472), Albin Wärnelöv (Experion Racing VW Golf – 1:00.783) and Andreas Wernersson (Brink Motorsport Audi – 1:00.799).
