Robert Dahlgren has taken his eighth win of in the TCR Scandinavia season at Anderstorp, having won every race without a reversed grid. Dahlgren led a podium comprised of Hugo Nerman and his own teammate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky.
Dahlgren started from pole position ahead of Tobias Brink, and Nerman while Åhlin-Kottulinsky got better drive off the line to move ahead of Oliver Söderström into fourth.
At the end of the first lap, Nerman dived up the inside of Brink who lost momentum and dropped three spots to Nerman, Åhlin-Kottulinsky and Söderström.
Andreas Ahlberg was the first casualty of the race; he passed Robin Knutsson on the opening lap, but at the end of lap two he was wide by Knutsson; Ahlberg collected too much grass in his radiator and retired.
The race was a procession up front after that, with Dahlgren slowly pulling away from Nerman, while Åhlin-Kottulinsky was again putting on a defensive race to keep Söderström behind, but this time Söderström found no opportunity to attack.
Dahlgren won by less than a second over Nerman, while Åhlin-Kottulinsky secured her fifth consecutive podium result to keep in championship contention with her teammate. After the race, Nerman was given a 10-second penalty for the incident with brink and dropped to fifth.
Dahlgren’s lead her in the standings now increases to 59 points, with Brink 79 points behind in third.
The third and final race of the day gets underway at 16:35 CEST, with Robin Knutsson starting from the reversed grid pole.
