CUPRA Racing has opened the online pre-booking system for its new TCR car, the CUPRA León Competición that will began racing in 2020.
Customers can now register their interest at https://prebooking.cupraofficial.com; deliveries of the cars, that will take place at the high-performance brand’s new headquarters, will start from April 2020.
“CUPRA has always had a pioneering role in the world of motorsport. We were the developers of the first TCR platform, and last year we presented the first 100% electric touring car, the CUPRA e-Racer. With this solution, CUPRA shows its intentions to be the reference point to the racing world and makes another step towards the company’s e-commerce strategy,” said Jaime Puig, director of CUPRA Racing.
The latest TCR racing car is based on the next-generation of CUPRA León; it benefits from an improved aerodynamic efficiency and a full kinematic geometric setup in both axles that use lightweight components to improve weight distribution. The 2.0 litre turbocharged engine’s performance has been increased and the racing electronic architecture is lighter, stronger, modular and customisable.
The development of the new race-car is in its final phase and track tests started last October, with different sessions in Spain, Portugal and Italy.
