CTCC launches the 2020 TCR Canada SIM Racing series

The Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Pirelli is the first TCR-sanctioned series to follow TCR Europe in joining the virtual world of TCR SIM Racing.
Following the signature of a deal with WSC Ltd. that owns the TCR global rights, the CTCC promoter announces the only TCR North American 2020 calendar. CTCC presented by Pirelli will showcase its TCR class as TCR Canada presented by Pirelli; the virtual championship is set to start on June 20.
Based on the Assetto Corsa SIM platform, this new TCR SIM Racing championship is open to a maximum of 25 competitors and will feature existing homologated TCR cars based on genuine race car liveries to attain the best experience.

“We are extremely excited to be introducing this alternative way of racing into our championship,” confirmed Dominique Bondar, General Manager of RACE Events. “With the pandemic limiting our current racing season, we find the option of going virtual to be essential in order to give our competitors, our partners and our fans a realistic and very accessible substitute that keeps everyone at a safe distance while enjoying competitive racing.”

The seven-event programme will highlight a variety of Canadian and US racetracks, including Sebring and Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
All races will be streamed live on TCR and CTCC Facebook pages and YouTube channels.
