The Audi cars won both the Coppa Italia Turismo races at Vallelunga, with Enrico Bettera and Edoardo Barbolini taking one victory apiece.
In Race 1, Jacopo Guidetti crossed the finishing line in first position, but he was handed a 15-second time penalty for a collision with Bettera. This demoted him to second behind the rival who made up for the disappointment of the previous weekend, when he lost a likely victory in the first race of TCR Italy. Alessio Aiello completed the podium ahead of Daniele Cappellari.
In a wet second race, Andrea Argenti took the lead from Barbolini who eventually managed to steal the lead from him during the final laps, winning by 1.2 seconds. Paraplegic driver Giulio Valentini grabbed a brilliant third place in his CUPRA DSG, beating Filippo Vita in an identical car.
These results meant that Guidetti and Barbolini moved into the first and second positions of the standings, split by three points only, while the former leader Cappellari slipped down to third, a further nine points adrift.
The Coppa Italia Turismo will resume at Imola on October 12/13 for its final event.
