Comtoyou Racing confirms Nicolas Baert for TCR Europe

2020 TCR Europe Rookie champion Nicolas Baert returns to the championship for a second season at the wheel of one of Comtoyou Racing’s Audi RS 3 LMS cars. He will team up with veterans Tom Coronel and Dušan Borković.

“I’m competitive, so if we once again start fighting it out with 20 or 25 cars it can but motivate even more. Allow me also to congratulate the organisers of TCR Europe on being able to bring together such a strong field of competitors in these difficult times. The title in that field is the ambition, because improving on last year’s bronze medal implies finishing first or second. A sportsman wants to win, so the title is indeed my target. I obviously can no longer defend my Rookie title, but if possible, I would love to win the TCR Benelux again, it is a and remains a title on one’s record of achievements,” said Baert.

Last year, on his maiden Touring Car season, the 19-year-old Belgian managed to win the first race at Zolder and eventually was classified third in the TCR Europe Drivers’ championship, clinching the Rookie Trophy and the TCR Benelux title in the proceedings.
