Double TCR International Series champion Stefano Comini will take part in the 2018 TCR Europe at the wheel of a Top Run-built Subaru WRX STI.
After racing under a temporary homologation in the previous seasons, the Japanese car has successfully gone through the whole technical procedure and has been granted a TCR homologation document. The TCR Technical Department has allocated it a Balance of Performance ballast of -20 kilos and this will result in a minimum running weight of 1295 kilos with the driver on board.
Comini, who won the TCR International Series title in 2015 with a SEAT León and 2016 with a Volkswagen Golf GTI, had already driven the Subaru twice last year in the TCR Italy. His best results were a third place in Monza Race 1 and a fourth in Race 2 at Imola.
The car, that will be run by the newly-founded Race Republic team, is the last evolution prepared by Top-Run Motorsport that was seen at Monza last year; as a further development the suspension has been strengthened.
"It was the longest winter of my racing career," said Comini. “We have worked a lot and have met with a series of issues that delayed the plan until last week. I am very grateful to Race Republic as they were finally able to put this programme together.”
