Former Australian Formula 3 star Chelsea Angelo has found a seat in the upcoming TCR Asia Pacific Cup round at Albert Park; she will drive a Volkswagen Golf GTI rub by Melbourne Performance Centre.
Angelo competed in the inaugural TCR Australia season last year for Kelly Racing, steering one of the team’s Holden Astra entries before being dropped by the team for André Heimgartner to take over the car.
Ahead of the return at her home circuit, Angelo said she learnt a lot in her inaugural TCR season and will use those lessons to perform with the MPC squad in Melbourne.
“It’s great to confirm that I will be back in the TCR Series, this time driving a Golf for MPC,” said Angelo. “I really enjoyed my time in the category last year and learnt so much along the journey. The cars are really fun to drive and with some of the progress that we made towards the end of last season, I believe that we can transfer that into some results at the Grand Prix. I can’t for the Grand Prix week to start!”
