The 23-year-old Brazilian Pedro Cardoso is the first driver who signed for Scuderia Chiarelli for the 2023 TCR South America and TCR Brazil championships.
The winner of the 2015 South American Formula 4 title, Cardoso will drive one of the team’s two Hyundai Elantra N cars, while team principal Carlos Chiarelli said that the second cars will not be entered until the start of the new TCR Brazil in June at Interlagos.
“I’m so pleased to compete in TCR that in my view is the category of the future, in Brazil as in the rest of the world. My goal is to step up to international racing in the near future, and I think this is the right path. I’m confident that choosing Scuderia Chiarelli and the Hyundai car I have got a great package,” said Cardoso.
Chiarelli echoed: “Now that Pedro has joined the team, we have great expectations for the season. He knows some of the circuits and this will help; the other crucial facture will be the support from Hyundai Motorsport that will send engineers to assist our team in some events.”
