The Navarra circuit hosts the opening event of the Campeonato de España Resistencia (CER) that has attracted 13 teams in the TCR class.
All but one will race CUPRA cars, mostly with DSG gearbox; the only voice out of the choir is the SMC Junior Motorsport team that field a Peugeot 308 for Enrique Hernando and Gonzalo de Andres who claimed a double victory at Jarama last year on the French car’s first appearance in the series.
The CUPRA patrol is led by the pair of Gianluigi Vicinanza and Álex Cosin, who were classified second in the standings last year.
The entry list includes two lady drivers: Andorra’s Amalia Vinyes (Baporo Motorsport) and 2017 24H TCE Series champion Alba Cano Ramírez (Monlau Competición), who are both TCR experts.
Competitors will take part in two 48-minute races on Sunday.
