The Kazan Ring is the venue for TCR Russia's rounds 7 and 8 that take place this weekend.
After clinching three consecutive titles between 2016 and 2018 driving SEAT and Audi cars, TAIF Motorsport’s Dmitry Bragin has switched to a Hyundai i30 N and is well in contention to become champion for the fourth time. He’s currently leading the standings, having scored 96 points, three more than Aleksey Dudukalo who drives a Lukoil Racing Audi RS 3 LMS. In third position, four further points adrift, is Kirill Ladygin in the Rosneft LADA Vesta Sport. Dudukalo’s teammate Andrej Maslennikov ranks fourth in his CUPRA, with 73 points, while Klim Gavrilov (LAT Rally, Audi RS 3 LMS) follows two points behind. The last serious title contender is Lukoil Racing’s third man Ivan Lukashevich, who drives a Hyundai i30 N and has a gap of 32 points from Bragin.
A 22-car field will race in Kazan, Ibragim Akhmadov rejoins in the Akhmat Racing Team Volkswagen Golf GTI after skipping the previous event at Smolensk, while Anton Nemkin switches to the Honda Civic FK7 that was previously driven by Oleg Kharuk.
The first race will start Saturday at 12:15 local time (11:15 CET) and the second Sunday at 12:10 local time (11:10 CET); they will be both streamed as www.tcr-series.com and www.tcr-series.tv.
