Former TCR Italy champion Nicola Baldan will make his seasonal debut in the TCR Europe series this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps.
The 38-year-old will be at the wheel of a CUPRA Leon Competición run by Élite Motorsport, and this will also mark the first appearance of the new Spanish TCR model in the European series.
It’s a kind of return to his roots for Baldan, who was crowned champion of TCR Italy in 2017 when he drove the previous model of the CUPRA TCR to seven race wins during the season.
The year after he switched to a Hyundai i30 N, with which he scored one victory and finished fifth in the TCR Italy standings.
On that same season he made a one-off appearance in TCR Europe at Le Castellet with a best result 10th in Race 1.
