Bäckman siblings to race in TCR Europe with Target

After a successful maiden season in TCR UK and TCR Scandinavia, Swedish siblings Andreas and Jessica Bäckman are now focusing on TCR Europe in 2019, driving Hyundai i30 N cars run by Target Competition.
The Italian team has won several TCR awards including the Teams’ and Drivers’ titles in the 2015 TCR International Series and the 2016 TCR Germany.

“I´m delighted to welcome Andreas and Jessica in our team. Both have showed a strong performance in different TCR series. The key will be a good preparation before the first round and I am confident they will be on top from the very first race,” said team principal Andreas Gummerer.

“When I started the 2018 season, I never thought that one year later I would be about to compete in one of the best teams, against Europe's best racing drivers. It will be so exciting to start a new season and develop even more as a driver,” Jessica said.

Andreas echoed: “The results from recent years show that Target is team to count on for the upcoming season. My efforts during the 2018 season exceeded my expectations for my first year in racing, so it will be very exciting to see what the next season has to offer.”
