After announcing Denis Dupont as its first driver for the 2018 FIA WTCR, Comtoyou Racing unveiled the name of Aurélien Panis as Dupont’s teammate.
The 23-year old Frenchman, son of former F1 driver Olivier Panis, made his TCR debut last year, claiming a brilliant victory in the International Series event at Buriram.
“I am delighted to join Comtoyou Racing and Audi for this inaugural season of WTCR. The team is very professional and able to fight for the top positions. I’m eager to start testing the Audi and can’t wait for the season to kick off,”said Panis.
Team manager François Verbist added: “Aurélien is a skilled driver and he shows us every week in the Andros Trophy’s Electric class. Together with Audi Sport we will do our best to give him a competitive car and be sure that the Marseillaise will be played during the WTCR podium ceremonies. Now we can start testing!”
