Audi RS3 LMS close to the Model of the Year title

With only one event left to conclude the TCR season - TCR China's finale at Guangdong International Circuit - the Audi RS3 LMS is just one step away from clinching the 2019 Model of the Year title that is awarded by WSC.
Points for the Model of the Year classification are allocated according to the results of the different model cars in all the TCR-sanctioned races of the season. Points are adjusted by coefficients that take into consideration the level of the series, the number of cars at the start and the number of brands represented.
The Audi leads the standings with 7165.50 points, followed by the Honda Civic Type R that lies in second position with 7062.75 points. However, as no Honda cars appear on the provisional entry list, the event in Guangdong may become a simpe formality for Audi to secure the title. Two Audi cars have been entered, one each by TeamWork Motorsport and Champ X T.A. Motorsport.
The Cupra/SEAT León that had clinched the 2018 Model of the Year title has already secured the third position for the current season.
