With a 15-car field, TCR Scandinavia resumes for rounds 3 and 4 at Anderstorp, where Andreas Wernersson will defend his points lead in the championship.
The Brink Motorsport driver won the second race of the season’s opening event at Ring Knutstorp at the wheel of his Audi RS 3 LMS, and that victory, joint to a fourth place in Race 1, placed him on top of the standings with a two-point margin ahead of Andreas Ahlberg and his Micke Kågered Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI.
Behind the leading pair, Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinski and Wernersson’s teammate Tobias Brink are joint in third position, six points from the leader. The PWR Racing’s lady and her CUPRA had claimed a dominant victory from pole position in the first race, but then she was eliminated by an incident in the first stages of Race 2. A further two-points adrift is Robert Dahlgren, the 2017 champion, in another PWR Racing CUPRA.
TCR Europe regular Jessica Bäckman makes a one-off return to the series in which she raced last year at the wheel of her Target Competition Hyundai i30 N.
Danish team Insight Racing adds a second car to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta of Louise Frost, a Honda Civic FK2 for Jonas Lynge. Also from Denmark, comes Kim Lund in a CUPRA run by the Madbull Racing.
