Alexandra Whitley and Declan Fraser are the latest to additions to the grid of the TCR Asia Pacific Cup that take places this weekend at Albert Park, Melbourne, in the frame of the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Whitley returns at the wheel of the Melbourne Performance Centre Volkswagen Golf GTI car she drove in last year’s TCR Australia championship.
“I’m really excited to be racing at the Grand Prix. It’s a new track for me and I’m looking forward to the hype of the weekend,” said Whitley. “I’m stoked to be back and put into place what I learnt last year. It was a terrific series to be involved with and I’m aiming to get onto the grid for every race this year.”
Fraser, a former race winner in the competitive Toyota 86 Racing Series, will drive a Golf GTI as well, but for Milldun Motorsport. His car is the one driven in 2019 by Jason Bright to score two victories in TCR Australia.
Both Whitley’s and Fraser’s deals are limited to the Albert Park event, but they are working on securing the right level of support to continue through the TCR Australia season.
