The competition between fellow Finnish countrymen Aku Pellinen and Antti Buri for the TCR Fan Award ended in a victory for the former.
The two drivers were named from the TCR Award panel after the racing weekend at Spa, where Pellinen claimed his maiden TCR victory at the wheel of his WestCoast Racing Honda Civic and Buri finished on the podium in his first appearance in the championship and with the Leopard Racing Volkswagen Golf Gti.
The all-Finn contest saw Pellinen receiving 58.9% of the votes against Buri’s 41.1%.
“Of course it is a pleasure to win this award. It's nice to have support from people who are following TCR International Series and for sure fans will boost me for even better results in the next races! Spa was a great weekend for me. It showed that I am able to win in the TCR International Series. It is the evidence that we need to continue the hard work we have been doing to achieve some more race wins in the future!” a delighted Pellinen declared.
