The 16-year-old Carlo Tamburini completed an amazing Touring Car debut winning both the Coppa Italia Turismo races in the season finale at Monza.
After setting pole position at the wheel of his MM Motorsport Honda Civic Type R, Tamburini was first under the chequered flag in the first race. He was then demoted to second behind a car of the BMW M2 Cup by a five-second penalty for having caused an incident with the CUPRA Leon Competición of Giacomo Ghermandi. Despite the penalty, Tamburini won the TCR class ahead of Adriano Visdomini and Steven Giacon.
Marco Butti and Predrag Šavinovič, who had finished third and fourth overall, or second and third in TCR, were also penalised by five seconds for overtaking during a safety car intervention and so dropped to fourth and fifth in the class.
Tamburini started Race 2 from P7 on the top-eight reversed grid but quickly found his way to the lead, winning by eight seconds over Butti, with Giacon in third position once again.
Carlotta Fedeli drove his RC Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS to finish second in the DSG class behind Giacon in both races, and so wrapped the class title.
