The SEAT León TCR entered by the RS+A team and driven by Mariano Costamagna, Marco Costamagna and Roberto Olivo won the Mugello 3 hours, opening round of the Italian Endurance Champions Cup.
There was only another car in the TCR class, the MM Motorsport Honda Civic FK7 shared by Emanuele Alborghetti and Luigi Bamonte.
The RS+A trio was able to keep a more consistent pace, beating the Honda on the 3-hour distance.
Mariano Costamagna said: “We are very pleased with this result, as our goal is to win the Italian TCR Endurance title. We are confident because the three of us have equal performance and we make a very good team. Today this helped us to set a consistent pace.”
Alborghetti commented: “It was not the result we were aiming for, but we are happy for having finished the race without technical issues. We can’t forget that we took delivery of the car only two days before the race and today it was important beginning to get used to it.”
The next round of the series will be the 3 Hours of Misano on 5 May.
