A brand-new team – Exion Racing – will run two new Audi RS 3 LMS cars in this year’s TCR Scandinavia for drivers Calle Bergman and Isac Aronsson. The cars are due to be delivered in late April and the team will then embark on a programme of testing before the opening round of the series in early June.
For Aronsson, 2022 will mark his third season in TCR Scandinavia after he finished as runner-up in the Independents’ championship last year. 16-year-old Bergman will make his TCR Scandinavia debut, following two years competing in Formula Nordic in which he finished sixth in 2021.
“I feel ready and motivated ahead of this season,” said Aronsson. “I am of course humble ahead of the task, but I’ve never had so good conditions before, and my goal is to take a big step forward in the results.”
“TCR Scandinavia has always been a dream for me and I’m finally here,” Bergman added. “It feels great to make my debut with the team as we share the same goal for the season. I’ve never raced front-wheel driven cars before, but I will work to create as good conditions as possible for me to grow as a driver.”
