The TCR UK championship got its first official track activity of the year underway at a wet Donington Park circuit on Tuesday, with a media day for photography and testing.
While the champion Chris Smiley was present only in person as his car, the new Civic Type R FL5 was being homologated by WSC Group, there was a colourful array of new liveries, and many cars that are new to the championship on circuit, with the new Audi RS 3 and Hyundai Elantra N cars making their TCR UK debuts this year.
The series hasn’t released a final entry list as yet as there are some last-minute entries still being finalised ahead of next weekend’s season opener at Snetterton.
15 teams were present at the media day, with 23 cars on the register.
This meant nine TCR models were on show including the Honda Civic FK7, the Hyundai Elantra N, i30 N, and Veloster N, both generations of the Audi RS 3, a Vauxhall Astra, six new CUPRA Leon Competicións, and one older CUPRA TCR.
