Klim Gavrilov, the winner of three rounds of the 2018 TCR Russia championship, will make his international debut in the TCR Europe Series’ final event at Barcelona’s Circuit Catalunya.
The 18-year-old from Saint Peterburg will be at the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf GTI run by the Russia-based LTA Rally team, managed by Dmitriy Voronov.
Gavrilov’s debut in car racing dates back to last year, when he joined Lukoil Racing to drive a SEAT León in TCR Russia and immediately emerged as one of the series’ fastest drivers, claiming his first victory at Smolensk and finishing seventh in the championship standings.
During the current season he won the opening round at Fort Grozny in a Lukoil Racing Audi RS3 LMS, then switched to the Golf GTI and scored two more victories at Moscow Raceway and Sochi. He was in contention for the title fight until the season’s finale and eventually ranked fifth in the points.
