The TCR Malaysia championship resumes tomorrow for rounds 3 and 4, with a one-day event, again at Sepang International Circuit.
Compared to the previous meeting there are three changes in the line up of the Liqui Moly Team Engstler: Michael John Soong replaces Théo Coicaud in the second Hyundai i30 N, while young locals Brendan Paul Anthony and Ahmad Akid Bin Noor Azlee take the wheel of two Volkswagen Golf GTI cars in the place of Henry Kwong and Adam Khalid.
The German team’s leading driver Luca Engstler tops the standings with 54 points, after he claimed a double victory in the series’ opener last weekend at the wheel of his Hyundai, while Kai Jordan completes the five-car line-up in another Golf GTI.
After fielding a Golf GTI for Rob Huff in the first meeting, TeamWork Motorsport will not take part.
Local driver Douglas Khoo will race again in his Viper Niza Racing CUPRA and so will do Martin Ryba in the Brutal Fish Racing Golf GTI.
The field is rounded off by a trio of Honda Civic Type R cars: two for Prince Racing driven by Michael Choi and Kenneth Lau, plus one for KCMG driven by team principal Paul Ip.
Qualifying will take place at 16:15 local time (9:15 CET) and the two 11-lap races at 18:15 and 20:15 respectively (11:15 and 13:15 CET).
