Söderström to partner Bäckman at Lestrup Racing

Having already announced that Andreas Bäckman will race in the 2022 TCR Scandinavia series, Lestrup Racing Team has now confirmed that his teammate will be Oliver Söderström, who will contest his fourth season with the team.

23-year-old Söderström finished fifth in the 2020 overall standings and fourth last year, driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI, but the team has yet to confirm which car brand will use in 2022.

“I am aiming for the title; it’s the logical next step forward for me and the team,” said Söderström. “We had a season of ups and downs last year, but I see that as something positive as we know where we need to improve. I feel really motivated and I know we have the pieces of the puzzle to challenge for the title on a new level.”
