Changeable weather in Oschersleben for TCR Germany test

Eleven drivers took part in the ADAC TCR Germany’s pre-season test, Monday and Tuesday at Oscherleben Motorsport Arena that marked the first appearance of the Hyundai Veloster N in the series. The Roja Motorsport-run Korean car was driven by Reece Barr in day one and then by Jessica Bäckman in day two.

Szymon Ładniak set the fastest time in Monday’s dry session, driving his Team Engstler Honda to complete a lap in 1:31.390, beating his teammate Martin Andersen by three tenths of a second. Jonas Karklys posted the third fastest time in the Juta Racing Hyundai i30 N, only 22 thousandths behind Andersen.

The track was wet on Tuesday and Bäckman was fastest on her first time at the wheel of the Roja Motorsport Veloster with a lap of 1:46.352. She was followed by Karklys, two tenths behind, while Andersen and Ładniak were third and fourth fastest, two further tenths adrift.

Among the participants were Max Gruhn with the new Audi RS 3 LMS G2 run by the Gruhn Stahlbau Racing and the two Maurer Motorsport Opel Astra cars for Belgian veteran Vincent Radermecker and Swiss rookie Michael Maurer.
