Korea Motorsport Bridge, promoter of TCR Korea, has announced the provisional calendar for the series’ inaugural season. The current schedule comprises three events with the opening on 24/25 August together with the TCR Asia series. Two races will be run at each event.
The series will visit the Korea International Circuit at Yeongam and the Inje Speedium, the two main permanent racetracks in South Korea.
Hongsik Jeon, CEO of the KMB, said: “Premiere car brands such as Hyundai, Audi, Volkswagen, Honda and SEAT will deliver close battles and this will attract many motorsport fans in Korea. Since our announcement for TCR Korea earlier this year, many teams and drivers have showed their interest. The calendar has been drafted for giving the opportunity of taking part in TCR Korea to TCR Asia teams and drivers as well. I believe this will open up new possibilities and bring huge excitement to the Korean motorsport scene.”
KMB expects more than 10 teams and over 20 drivers to register for this maiden season.
