The BMW Endurance Challenge at Daytona, opening rounds of the IMSA Continental Tire Challenge, marks the debut of the TCR cars in the series.
The TCR class slots in between GS and ST in performance and has seven teams on the entry list. Volkswagen, the newest manufacturer to the series, is represented with one Golf GTI, while the remaining teams are fielding Audi RS3 LMS cars.
Three teams that are familiar with the series – Murillo Racing, JDC-Miller Motorsports and C360R – are fielding TCR cars this year and are joined by three newcomers: eEuroparts.com Racing, RS Werkes Racing and Rumcastle LLC; the latter is running the single Golf.
Two drivers will share driving duties during the 4-hour race that will start next Friday at 1:00PM local time (7:00PM in Central Europe) as a prelude to the Daytona 24 Hours.
